My Mum - she is such an amazing, strong, loving and devoted mum who is always there to cheer me on. She has been through so much over the last few years and has never given up. Gives me inspiration to keep going even through the tough times!
My most proud dressage moment
2007 was a very exciting year for me, with many proud moments. I rode my first Grand Prix ever on Oscar b who I have trained from a 4yr old. Also starting his career was World Star who had a great 1st season taking home Novice Horse of the Year 2007!!
The most exciting horse in my stable
It’s too hard to split them as they are both exciting, Oscar: Is shows so much talent for the Grand Prix movements, and World Star who is only 5yr old but shows so much potential for the future and that is very exciting! Both horses have amazing trainable temperaments.
What I look forward to everyday
I really look forward to the riding the boys. Even when you are at the top level, You never stop learning!! Which makes everyday different.
My highlight or specialty
I guess I like both ends of the scale, Riding the young ones, (which at times can be challenging, to say the least!) Then I also enjoy training the Grand Prix movements, My time in Germany with Ulla Salzgber, was where I was really able to see how the top riders ride and train. I learnt so much! I’m not sure if it’s a secret but my biggest tip is – Get your horse really going through from head to tail (no tension!!), Then the movements become easy, and they must react to your aids(1st time!!).
Why Dressage?
Jumping was too scary!!
What else is there to life but dressage?
Not Much!! He he he. Only joking, I always have time for shopping and catching up with friends.
My dream horse
There are so many, I would bring home!! For a Grand Prix horse you couldn’t pass up a ride on Anky’s ‘Salinero’.
