Did you manage to keep up with the Aachen results in July? Perhaps you even found time to watch the online video stream, if your computer kept up with it that is!

For me, Aachen was inspiring on a couple of different levels. The Aussie team of Brett Parbery, Hayley Beresford and Lyndal Oatley (pictured) did a fantastic job and were excellent representatives for their sport and their country. Three more professional and positive people you will not meet.

Brett Parbery is such a great role model for aspiring Australian dressage riders. Aboard a home bred (by Carolyn Lieutenant) Aussie gelding, Brett achieved a top 10 finish at Aachen in excellent company. Brett has based himself in Australia and worked seven days a week for many years to build up his skills and really deserves every success he gets.

Brett is the star of the new OntheBit DVD, Dressage with Brett Parbery. It features Brett riding both Victory Salute at Grand Prix level, and Zeppelin at Elementary level. At under $35, it's been flying off the shelves so we have ordered more in and they're now in stock. There's a special deal for you at the bottom of this page aswell!

The other element of the Aachen show that captured my attention, along with the rest of the horse world, was the performance of Edward Gal and Moorlands Totilas. Is this the best dressage horse we have ever seen? We've put together a few videos from Aachen, so when you've got 15 minutes to spare, have a look and take some inspiration for your own riding.

Speaking of Germany, have a look at the new stallion on the block, currently featured in our 5 Stallions You Haven't Heard of...Yet series. D'Dur is a German Grand Prix stallion by none other than Donnerhall! He has been recently imported into Australia and his temperament and ability to collect certainly make him worth a look for the upcoming breeding season.... or just for a bit of a drool session!

If instead of breeding, you dream of buying a young talented dressage horse and schooling him up the dressage ranks yourself, have a read of Briana Burgess' latest blog. Briana is an Australian rider who has been employed at the Theodorescu barn for a couple of years now so she has clocked up some serious experience with young dressage horses and has learned a thing or two along the way.

Speaking of top Aussies, check out this ABC TV video about Peter Horobin Saddlery, sponsors of the Dressage with Brett Parbery DVD. As the maker of Brett's preferred saddle (the PH Liberty), Peter is THE guy to call if you're serious about riding in a made to measure top quality dressage saddle.

Our high performance coach, Anna Krups, has written a lovely personal blog about motivation. Anna always gives us wonderful food for thought and I highly recommend that you read this months blog and think about how you can create a mindset of motivation for yourself and your horse.

We say goodbye for the time being to Nicholas Fyffe and Christine Crawford who are both heading overseas on exciting dressage adventures. Christine is off to the Netherlands and Nick will end up in the US after he has finishing enjoying some down time! Best of luck Nick and Christine!

Until next time, I hope you enjoy the site and gather some motivation, hints and tips for your riding.
